Thickness is an important roofing-sheet specification, but it should not be used as the only measure of suitability. KK Peprah encourages customers to compare the complete product details and the requirements of the building before ordering.
What does roofing sheet thickness mean?
Thickness describes how thick the sheet material is. However, quotations may state base-metal thickness or total coated thickness. These are not always the same measurement, so ask the supplier to clarify the basis and confirm the relevant product specification.
Comparing 0.40mm, 0.45mm and 0.50mm
A nominal 0.40mm sheet is thinner than an otherwise comparable 0.45mm or 0.50mm sheet. A nominal 0.45mm option sits between those values, while 0.50mm is thicker. These figures are examples of common nominal options, not a guarantee that every profile or finish is available in each thickness. Confirm current availability with KK Peprah.
Why thickness is not the only factor
Material type, coating, profile geometry, support spacing, roof span, fixing method, workmanship and exposure conditions all contribute to the performance of the roof. The correct specification should suit the designed roof system and manufacturer guidance. Do not select a thickness based only on a neighbour’s building or a price difference.
How to compare a quote
Check profile, material, thickness measurement basis, coating or finish, effective coverage, sheet lengths, quantity, accessories, transport and any agreed installation scope. Make sure quotes cover equivalent specifications.
Ask KK Peprah to help clarify the specification
Tell us which roof profile and colour you prefer and share any drawings or contractor requirements. If you are unsure of the measurements, contact KK Peprah to discuss a site visit and estimate. Final product and structural specifications should be confirmed before purchase and installation.
